Adam J. Ringler, DPM

Dr. Adam Ringler grew up in Sullivan, Ohio, but came down to Miami 16 years ago to complete his residency. Once here, Dr. Ringler enjoyed working at Palmetto General Hospital and learning Spanish so much that he decided to stay in South Florida.

Ringler now practices with Dr. Gary Keller close to Hialeah Hospital, often treating patients who have hurt their feet or ankles while on the job, or those who have a foot or ankle accident at any time.

My practice is focused on getting people well and back to work, so that we can minimize the time they are out of commission, Dr. Ringler says.

Dr. Ringler attended Ashland University in Ohio for his undergraduate studies. He then went to the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, which is now part of Kent State Universitys graduate programs. Dr. Ringler did his podiatry residency at Palmetto General Hospital, where he met his current partner, Dr. Keller.

Since much of his practice involves trauma injuries, Dr. Ringler wanted to learn more about treating patients without them having to undergo surgery. Therefore, Ringler did a one-year mini fellowship in Russia on external fixations. These are devices that are used to treat or fix foot and ankle fractures, as an alternative to surgery or a way to reduce the size of incisions. External fixations increase your options in the treatment of difficult fractures, and it decreases some of the complications from surgery, so patients may able to walk sooner, Dr. Ringler says.

In his time outside of work, Ringler also founded the Steps of Life Foundation in 2005, a volunteer organization that organizes mission trips to the Dominican Republic to provide podiatric care to needy citizens of the island. Ringler now travels to the Dominican Republic a few times a year.
