Alfred Allen

Alfred Allen, MD was born and grew up in Cairo, Egypt where he graduated from Faculty of medicine of Ain Shams University in 1999. He then moved to Chicago , IL where he completed his residency training in internal medicine at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center.
After residency, Dr. Allen was appointed as Assistant Professor, Internal Medicine, Southern IL Univ Sch of Medicine in Springfield , IL where he was professionally affiliated with multiple hospitals in Springfield area MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER , PASSAVANT AREA HOSPITAL and ST JOHNS HOSPITAL.
Dr. Allen moved back to Chicago area where is affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital , Saint Bernard Hospital, Mackneal Hospital, Adventist Hinsdale Hospital and Adventist La Grange Hospital.

Dr. Allen is committed to providing high quality, competent and compassionate health care to each of his patients. He believes in approaching every patient with respect and kindness and offering the best treatment options through education and prevention.

Dr. Allen has dedicated his medical career to the Chicago area. He realized very early on in his career that he wanted to help his patients in preventing disease through sharing his education and experience with them. He is known for his excellent listening skills, thoughtfulness, and direct communication with his patients. He also continues to personally care for his patients when they are admitted as inpatients.

He has enjoyed serving the medical community through his professional work with professional organizations. He has served as assistant professor of internal medicine at Southern Illinois University where he had been an instructor in Clinical Medicine for students and residents at MEMORIAL MEDICAL CENTER and ST JOHNS HOSPITAL.

As an Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Allen provides care for patients starting at age 14 with simple to complex medical issues. He also provides general care for endocrine disorders such as diabetes and thyroid disease, heart and kidney diseases, hypertension, lung diseases, and a number of other health problems. Dr. Allen enjoys discussing disease states and treatment options with his patients and he believes it's important to provide relevant and practical education to everyone.
