Ari Nowain, MD

Arash Ari Nowain, MD is double board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine and was the recipient of the Clinical Medicine Scholarship award in his fourth year of medical training. He completed three years of residency training in Internal Medicine at the Los Angeles County USC General Hospital. In all three years of residency, Dr. Nowain received the Resident of the Year award. He then completed three years of fellowship training in the Department of Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases at the USC Keck School of Medicine.

Dr. Ari Nowain specializes in medical disorders of the digestive system, which includes the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, gallbladder, pancreas, and non-surgical treatment of hemorrhoids. He performs an array of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques including upper endoscopy EGD, lower endoscopy colonoscopy, small bowel capsule endoscopy pill swallowed to take video of small bowel, and hemorrhoid band ligation. He treats acute and chronic GI problems and also focuses heavily on prevention of diseases such as colon and esophageal cancer. Additionally, Dr. Nowain is one of the first gastroenterologist in Los Angeles to offer the Third Eye Colonoscopy, a more advanced device used during a colonoscopy procedure to gain a more complete view of the colon lining.
