Eliza Rivera-Mitu is a Board-Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP-BC, a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner FNP-C, and a Board-Certified Advanced Diabetes Manager BC-ADM. She has been a Nurse Practitioner since 2013 and a Registered Nurse since 1993. Her clinical expertise spans psychiatry, primary care, addiction medicine, cardiology, hospice, pediatrics, and chronic disease management.
Eliza earned her psychiatric certification through UC Davis and is nationally credentialed by the ANCC. Her PMHNP training included immersive experiences at Exodus Recovery Wellness Center in South Los Angeles, Healthcare in Action's street medicine teams in Hollywood, Long Beach, and the South Bay, and at UC-LEND University of California Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities, a joint program between UCLA and UC Riverside, where she focused on autism and neurodevelopmental care.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Nursing, a Master's in Nursing Administration, and Post-Master's certifications in both Family and Psychiatric-Mental Health specialties. Outside of clinical practice, Eliza teaches in Associate Degree Nursing and Nurse Practitioner graduate programs, helping shape the next generation of nurses and advanced practice providers.
Beyond medicine, she is a worship leader, a wife to a fellow clinician, and a mother to three children and two dogs. Eliza is passionate about integrating clinical excellence with compassion, cultural understanding, and faith-based care.
