George Triadafilopoulos, MD, DSc, is clinical professor of medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Stanford University School of Medicine, Stanford, California. He also serves as a consultant gastroenterologist for the El Camino Hospital, Mountain View, California. Dr. Triadafilopoulos attended the Aristotelian University Medical School, Thessaloniki, Greece, where he received his MD, summa cum laude. He earned a DSc with honors from Patras Medical School, Patras, Greece. His internship in internal medicine was completed at the Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals, Detroit, Michigan, and a clinical and research fellowship in gastroenterology was completed at Boston University Medical Center, Boston, Massachussetts.
Dr. Triadafilopoulos holds memberships in several professional associations and he is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and the American Gastroenterological Association. Over the past two decades, Dr. Triadafilopoulos has served as a reviewer for many peer-reviewed journals and is editor-in-chief emeritus of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Triadafilopoulos has published more than 300 original peer-reviewed papers and more than 100 reviews on gastroenterology topics, including C. difficile colitis, gastroesophageal reflux, Barretts esophagus and adenocarcinoma, colon polyps, and gastrointestinal endoscopic procedures.
