Joseph M. Brooks, MD is board certified in Pain Medicine. Dr. Brooks is a diplomate of the American Board of Pain Medicine, the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with added qualifications in Pain Medicine, and the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Brooks attended the University of Florida where he completed his premedical studies, majoring in Microbiology and Human Nutrition. He attended medical school at Saba University School of Medicine in the Netherlands-Antilles. After completing a one-year internship with Boston University School of Medicine, he completed his residency, and served as Chief Resident at the Cleveland Clinic Florida. He then completed his Interventional Pain Medicine Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Within his practice, Dr. Brooks treats patients with acute, chronic, and cancer related pain using a multidisciplinary approach, utilizing minimally invasive procedures, physical therapeutic modalities, and medication management. He also treats patients with fibromyalgia, headaches, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, arthritis related disorders, sports medicine injuries, and many other chronic pain conditions. His special interest is the use of spinal cord stimulation in the treatment of failed back surgery syndrome.

Prior to moving to Colorado Springs, Dr. Brooks worked for over 5 years with large multidisciplinary pain practice in Melbourne, Florida.
Dr. Brooks married his high school sweetheart Caroline and together they are raising four boys. Dr. Brooks enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, riding dirt bikes with his sons, snowboarding, skateboarding, playing guitar, and taking surfing trips He has been a surfer since age 8.
