Laura Koen

Laura Koen, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than a decade of nursing experience across primary care, critical care, and complex patient care settings. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Laura spent more than 10 years as a registered nurse caring for patients across a wide range of specialties, including cardiac intensive care, medical and surgical intensive care, pediatrics, and neonatal intensive care. Her extensive critical care background gives her a strong foundation for evaluating complex medical conditions and understanding how chronic diseases affect the whole patient.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Laura has cared for adults with both acute and chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, thyroid disorders, respiratory conditions, and other common primary care concerns. She also has experience in preventive care, womens health, weight management, and transitional care for medically complex patients.

Laura believes exceptional healthcare begins with listening. She takes time to understand her patients concerns, explain the reasoning behind their treatment plans, and help them become active participants in their own health. She is passionate about combining evidence-based medicine with thoughtful, individualized care so that patients feel heard, respected, and confident in the decisions they make about their health.
