Louis-Joseph Auguste, MD

Following his residency in General Surgery at Long Island Jewish Medical Center,Dr. Auguste completed a fellowship at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo, NY, acquiring additional experience in the management of Head and Neck Tumors, Breast Diseases, Neoplasms of the Digestive Tract as well as Skin and Soft Tissue Tumors. Dr.Auguste has been practicing surgery in the New Hyde Park Manhasset area for 38 years. He is a Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Hofstra North ShoreLIJ School of Medicine. He has also completed a Masters Degree in Public Health at the Mailman School of Public Health of Columbia University.
His research has focused on thyroid and para-thyroid diseases, gastric cancer, as well as breast cancer. He has lectured in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. He has published nearly
100 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts.
Dr. Auguste has been providing humanitarian services to the people of Haiti, along with colleagues of the Association of Haitian Physicians Abroad and the NorthWell Health System.These efforts have been recognized by county, state and
federal officials as well as professional and community organizations.

For the past 20 years,he has been selected as one of the Best Doctors on Long Island by Newsday and Castle Connolly.
