Dr. Maliha Arzumand brings both surgical expertise and a deep commitment to patient education to her practice of foot and ankle medicine. She completed her residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with a focus on Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center in Iowa, where she trained extensively in the conservative and surgical management of foot and ankle disorders.
Dr. Arzumand treats a broad range of conditions affecting the forefoot, rearfoot, and ankle, including bunions, hammertoes, sports injuries, fractures, tendon and ligament disorders, arthritis, and complex foot and ankle deformities. She has a particular interest in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery and advanced surgical techniques, including total ankle replacement.
Her approach to care is built on listening, education, and shared decision-making. Dr. Arzumand believes every patient deserves a clear understanding of their diagnosis and treatment options, and she works closely with each person to build a plan suited to their needs prioritizing conservative treatment whenever possible, while offering surgical options when they offer the best path to restoring function and quality of life.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Arzumand is active in foot and ankle research, surgical education, and academic writing, and remains committed to practicing evidence-based, up-to-date care.
Dr. Arzumand was born and raised in Bangladesh and moved to New York after high school, where she completed her undergraduate studies and earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. She's excited to now call Southern California home and looks forward to getting to know the community she serves. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, snorkeling, trying new cuisines, and exploring everything California has to offer.
