Maria Valentin Mari, MD

Dr. Mara de los ngeles Valentn Mari was born in Mayagez, Puerto Rico, where she completed high school at Colegio La Milagrosa. She earned a bachelors degree in biology from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagez and later pursued her medical education at the Universidad Autnoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, obtaining her Doctor of Medicine degree. Upon returning to Puerto Rico, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Centro Mdico Episcopal San Lucas in 2004. In 2005, established her private practice, which she continues to operate at the Torre Mdica San Lucas while maintaining hospital privileges at Hospital San Lucas. In 2010, she was appointed Assistant Professor at Ponce Health Sciences University and has since served as an active faculty member in the Internal Medicine Residency Program, contributing to the clinical training of future physicians.
Since 2017, Dr. Valentn Mari has served as Director of Graduate Medical Education and Designated Institutional Official DIO, overseeing institutional and program compliance with ACGME Institutional, Common, and specialtysubspecialty Program Requirements. She is actively engaged in teaching medical students, advancing clinical research initiatives, and developing academic programs for high school and college students. These efforts reflect her strong commitment to her community and her dedication to fostering educational opportunities and promoting health through academic outreach.
