Matt Maxfield is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner PMHNP-BC with over five years of experience in psychiatric and behavioral health care. With a strong foundation in both medication management and psychotherapy, Matt provides comprehensive mental health treatment grounded in evidence-based approaches, with a particular emphasis on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ACT.
Drawing from a diverse professional backgroundincluding service in the U.S. Army for nine years, work as a certified personal trainer, English teacher abroad, and professional Latin dance instructorMatt brings a rich and holistic perspective to patient care. This breadth of experience informs a compassionate, collaborative approach focused on therapeutic partnership and open communication.
Matt is dedicated to treating the whole person, taking into account the critical role of sleep, nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle in mental health. His clinical philosophy blends traditional psychiatric practices with integrative strategies to support long-term well-being.
Outside of work, he enjoys mindfulness meditation, indoor rock climbing, Latin dance, and spending time with his family and their two French bulldogs.
