Michael R. Magoon

Dr Michael Magoon earned a degree in Human Physiology from Michigan State University. He obtained his Medical Doctorate at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Mike completed his Transitional Internship in General Practice at the Detroit Medical Center, and went on to train in Emergency Medicine at the Joint Military Medical Command Brooke Army and Wilford Hall USAF Medical Centers. He was designated a Subject Matter Expert on Emergency Medicine by the US Air Force. Dr Magoon has taught Emergency Medicine to residents, medical students, Nurse Practitioners, Paramedics, and Nurses. He is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr Magoon has been recognized annually as a Texas Super Doctor from 2012 to 2024. He has also been listed as a "Best of San Antonio Doctor" in Scene in SA Magazine for both Emergency Medicine and General Practice from 2013 to 2023.
Dr Mike Magoon is also an owner of The Emergency Clinic Alamo Heights, which has been recognized by Press Ganey in the Top 1 percent in the Nation for Patient Experience with the Pinnacle of Excellence Award from 2019 to 2024.
Dr Magoon and his son, Erik Magoon MBA, opened the Alamo Private Clinic in 2024 to better serve our community in General Practice and Primary Care.
