Michael Safran, MD

I am an experienced primary care MD and have chosen to remain in solo practice and independent from larger corporate medical groups. All appointments are scheduled at 12 hour intervals. This allows time to explore issues in more depth in an unhurried environment.

Our health care system is becoming increasingly complex, impersonal, and difficult to navigate. At Sawkill Family Medicine, my goal as your Primary Care Physician is to help you with most of your medical needs and to effectively guide you to available referrals and resources when indicated. I am also reasonably fluent in Spanish.

Established patients are given my personal email.



We enjoy the opportunity to accept new patients when they feel a need to turn to a new physician. We will try to accommodate new patient visit requests within seven days.
Our patients see us for all their primary care needs including preventative counseling, prescription management, referrals, chronic problems, acute illnesses, gyn, mental health, and geriatrics.

Our office team consists of myself and two assistants - Rosemary and Roz. We have worked together for over 20 years. Many of our patients have been with us for even longer.
