A perfect sync in mind body and soul is needed for a balanced and healthy life style and that is what I strive to look for and achieve during evaluation psychiatric assessment and treatment of my patients I am a dual board certified physician and specialize in Adult and Geriatric Psychiatry My experience in a busy academic center as a Director of Geriatric Psychiatry and Attending Physician in an inpatient unit over the last 5 years has given me expertise in treating varied aspects of mental illnesses I teach and supervise resident doctors and medical students and it forces me to stay informed with latest biological and therapeutic treatments for psychiatric illnesses I have a unique opportunity of supervising and training Geriatric Medicine fellows which gives me an edge in treating mental illnesses with comorbid medical illnesses This gives me ability to help considerdiagnose a possibility of medical cause responsible for presenting psychiatric symptoms there by ensuring comprehensive and accurate treatment
I will do a comprehensive assessment and see how the biological psychological and social issues in someoness past and present are interacting and contributing in presentation of psychiatric symptoms and will provide psychopharmacological treatment and brief psychotherapy if needed to alleviate the symptoms
I specialize in Adult and Elderly Depression and Anxiety Disorders Cognitive Issues Mood disorders including Bipolar disorder and Psychotic spectrum disorders I have an interest in OCD and Hoarding disorders too and have done extensive research and presentations on it and have been nationally recognized and awarded
I am an expert in diagnosing and treating various forms of Dementias and Neurocognitive disorders I also provide guidance and support to family members or caretakers of patient suffering from Dementias and or End of Life issues
