About
Rick McEwan's guiding philosophy is to be a "friend in healthcare," recognizing that seeking help is a courageous act. He meets patients where they are in their journey, focusing on individualized care plans that support mental and emotional well-being. He brings a wealth of expertise in a comprehensive patient-centered approach.

Credentialed through the AANC and AANP, Rick specializes in the holistic treatment of anxiety, depression, concentration deficits, stress management, mood disorders, OCD, bipolar disorder, and gender affirming care. Since 2012, he has served in a variety of clinical and leadership roles across private, public, and not-for-profit healthcare settings, ensuring patients receive compassionate, evidence-based care.

Adopting a therapeutic framework that emphasizes trust, collaboration, and empathy, Rick strives to create a therapeutic alliance where patients feel empowered to engage in their healing process. He integrates the latest in psychopharmacology and therapeutic modalities, using technology to offer convenient and comfortable interactions. Rick is especially passionate about working with LGBTQ individuals, fostering an affirming space where care is free from judgment and bias.

Rick's approach is deeply rooted in integrative care, leveraging a biopsychosocial model to address both physical and mental health. His educational foundation includes a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in womens health from Drexel University, alongside a bachelors and masters degree in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University. He has pursued post-masters certifications and holds specialized credentials as a Certified Dementia Practitioner NCCDP and HIV Specialist American Academy of HIV Medicine. As our clinical lead, he is a grateful double board-certified family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

A proud dog dad, Rick now resides in Chicago, though he's originally from the East Coast. He enjoys travel, sci-fi, good food, great company, nature, and random karaoke nights.
