Theresa M. Smith, CNP

I hold a Master's degree in Nursing with certification as a Family Psychiatric, Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The highlights of my training, expertise and experience include more than forty years of nursing experience in multiple specialties and settings. I also have experience in holistic studies and ran a successful colon hydrotherapy practice for nineteen years prior to pursuing my advanced practice degree. I settled on psychiatry when I realized the limitless potential. Each individual is utterly unique and although there are certain practice parameters that can serve our work, there are no absolutes in serving an individual. I delight in meeting individuals where they are and accompanying them on the journey to fully living their lives. I am consistently awed by the courage people display when embarking on life changes. It is a precious trust that each individual provides and my overall goal is to honor that trust at all times. We all need support in our lives and I consider myself a lamplighter to illuminate the path through the darkness. We become partners or companions on the journey of life.
